Julia Miller
Life often does not go according to plan and sometimes we need support navigating its challenges. I am passionate about supporting others in living their best quality of life possible. I believe this is best done by creating and holding a safe, non-judgmental space to support self-awareness, curiosity, expression and change.
Some of my main areas of focus include:
- Anxiety
- Chronic illness
- Chronic pain
- Depression
- End-of-life
- Grief & loss
- Life transitions such as aging, divorce & retirement
- Relationships
- Stress
- Trauma
Each individual has a unique life experience, and I believe that you are the expert on your life. I view my role as a counsellor as a supportive guide and ally on whatever journey you happen to be on. I offer an empathetic, inclusive, integrated and collaborative approach while using a strengths-based, person-centered, culturally sensitive and trauma-informed perspective to assist you in achieving your best possible outcomes. I utilize evidence-based strategies best suited to your specific needs in a holistic way.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and my Master of Science in Aging and Health through Queen’s University. I have taken many other programs and trainings related to supporting health and well-being. I enjoy teaching mind/body practices such as Qigong and TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises).
