Virtual Rehab

Breast Rehab offers virtual appointment options. While this service has always been part of our practice to accommodate patients across the province, it has taken on new importance as a result of COVID-19.

What is virtual rehab?

Virtual rehabilitation (“rehab”) relates to all aspects of patient care including the patient interview, physical assessment and diagnosis, treatment, maintenance activities, consultation, education, and training. This service is covered under most extended health care plans.

In addition, we offer virtual fitness assessments and training sessions as well as virtual ergonomic assessments.

For clients preparing for or recovering from breast surgery, we can recommend ways to address decreased range of motion from adhesive scarring or cording.

For clients undergoing cancer treatments, we can provide advice to help you cope with some of the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and conditions such as lymphedema, muscle and joint pain, and fatigue.

For clients needing mental health support, we can provide online psychotherapy services to help with anxiety, depression, coping with life changes and more concerns.

Upon assessment, individualized rehab plans are formulated which may include a home exercise program, compression therapy, ergonomic equipment set up, liaison with home care, educational hand-outs, and assistance with return to function. We can also provide help with applications to Ontario’s Assistive Devices Program (ADP).

Whatever your condition, we can virtually get you back to doing what you love!
